We are a specialist cheddar cheese company based in the World Heritage site of Blaenafon, South Wales. At present we produce eight very distinctive cheddars and four varieties of goat's cheese. All our cheeses are hand made at our shop in Broad Street Blaenafon. Our Pwll Mawr cheddar is actually matured at the bottom of the mine shaft at Big Pit mining museum and can be bought at their gift shop.
Our cheeses are flavoured with Penderyn Welsh whisky, Welsh white wine, Reverend James ale and other local ingredients. The four heritage cheddars are coated in different coloured waxes with scenes of Blaenafon's industrial heritage on the labels. Individually or collectively our cheddars would make an ideal gift. You can find our cheeses on the Products page where they can be purchased online.

Cambrian Mountain Lamb

  • Powys
  • phone:

Cambrian Mountain Lamb represents a group of farms in Mid Wales, which supply Welsh Lamb to the Co-operative Supermarket group across Wales.

Our lamb is extensively produced from native breeds in the Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales. The hefted flocks are kept on Farm assured farms using the old Hafod a Hendre system. We manage our farms through using skills and knowledge that have passed down to us for many generations. One such tradition is the “cyfnewid” system of neighbouring farmers helping each other at certain times of the year such as shearing and Autumn gathering. With so much discussion about food miles recently we are fortunate to have the lambs born, bred and processed locally.

Fair Trade

  • Brecon Powys
  • phone: 01874 624038

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices (which must never fall lower than the market price), Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives.

Sudaco Meats

  • Brecon Powys
  • phone: 01874 754510

The farm specializes in breeding and rearing traditional breed pigs, cattle & sheep outdoors in welfare - friendly conditions, where they have plenty of space in which to roam, root and wallow.

A growing number of people care how animals are reared and treated and have concluded that mass-produced foods have lost a lot of their taste and quality, regardless of how attractive the packaging may look.

We are completely committed to the health and well being of our animals, allowing them to grow naturally and happily in the Welsh countryside.

The Welsh Venison Centre

  • Bwlch Powys
  • phone: 01874 730929

The Welsh Venison Centre is in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park close to the village of Bwlch in the beautiful county of Powys. A family firm established in 1985 by David Morgan, it is now run by his brother Andrew and his wife Elaine who keep the whole operation under their close supervision.

The Welsh Venison Centre's policy has always reflected that of the new generation of farmers who insist on putting the customer first - superb animal husbandry and the highest standards of animal welfare are very important, but from the onset, the business appreciated that unless the end product met the expectations of the most discerning customer it would not be a success.

The Welsh Venison Centre was the first to become accredited as both a farm and processing unit under the Quality Mark for Farmed Venison, rewarding their commitment to high standards of animal welfare and meat processing.
